Cybersecurity Awareness Party game page on CrowdParty with Trivia, Pick Who, Friendly Fire and Would You Rather rounds

The Cybersecurity Awareness Party is a free team game on CrowdParty, presented by Hook Security. Your group plays trivia, Would You Rather, drawing, and picture rounds about phishing, passphrases, and staying safe online, all from their phones. It's free for up to 10 players, and you can host it in a few minutes on any video call.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and most teams are looking for something people will actually show up for. This is it: one shared screen, a leaderboard, and a lot of opinions about who has the strongest password.

Seven round types in the Cybersecurity Awareness Party on CrowdParty: Trivia, Pick Who, Friendly Fire, Would You Rather, With-Draw, Picture Trivia and Word Cloud, with an example prompt for each

What's in the Cybersecurity Awareness Party?

The game mixes seven round types so it never feels like a quiz. Trivia asks which attack tricks people into handing over sensitive information. Pick Who asks your team who's most likely to have the strongest password. Picture Trivia asks you to crack a password, and Word Cloud asks what cybersecurity means to you in one word. The host picks which rounds to play and how long the game runs.

How do you host it?

How to host the Cybersecurity Awareness Party in three steps: open the room on a computer, share your screen on a video call, and players join with a QR code or 5-digit PIN
  1. Open the game page, click Play Now, and choose your rounds.
  2. Share the host screen on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Slack, or run it on a smart TV in the room.
  3. Players join from a phone or laptop browser with the room link, the QR code, or the 5-digit PIN. There's no app to install.

The free version covers up to 10 players and 15 rounds. For a bigger all-hands, CrowdParty supports up to 1,000 players with a CrowdParty Pass. CrowdParty's host guide walks through screen sharing on each platform.

Why play a game during Cybersecurity Awareness Month?

Because people remember what they talk about. A party game gets a whole team arguing about phishing and passphrases for 20 minutes, with no slides and no blame. That's the idea behind Hook's Psychological Security (PsySec) approach: security habits stick when learning feels social and safe, not scary.
